The Dragon Boat Festival, one of the five most important holidays of the year in Chinese culture, will be celebrated this weekend on 23 June 2012. It takes place every year on the fifth day of the fifth moon of the Lunar Calendar. Thus, in Chinese it is known as Duan Wu Jie, or Double Fifth Day.

Every year, one of France wine producing regions is showcased during Le French GourMAY, which is part of the month long celebration of French culture in Hong Kong and Macau known as Le French May.

This year, Bordeaux is the featured region. A press conference was held at the French Window in the ifc mall in Hong Kong on 14 March 2012 to explain this year programme to the media. Several vintners and purveyors of foodstuffs from Bordeaux were on hand, with samples of their wares.

I will be flying to Singapore for the SG Grand Prix next Friday and will stay there till Monday night.
